The Kiko goat originated in New Zealand. It is a cross between a New Zealand feral goat and a dairy goat. The Kiko is a strong, disease resistant, low maintenance breed. They are seriously the worlds BEST mothers. The feral instincts sure show through when kidding time comes around, these moms kid in the brush then hide the kids as soon as they are walking (which is approximately 5 minutes!). We were feeding one day and noticed a doe missing so we went searching and found the doe and a set of twins about 3/4 mi. away through rough wooded terrain. Not wanting to disturb the bonding process we opted to leave the mother and babies where they were. The next day the doe and kids were at the gate for the morning feeding! One tough goat.
